Field Ministry Update from Commissioner Matthews:

 RAAF Base Amberley:

Recently, we have had an offer of demountables for an office and Rec Centre, choosing two. It should be a great place of outreach once Rep. Susan Nitz and John Turner establish it. Pray for Susan, team leader, in this task. Pray also that John’s accreditation will proceed speedily.

Kokoda Barracks Canungra:

Richard Gibson is our newest Representative, and will help Rep. Scott Grant-Woodford at Canungra, and occasionally, Amberley RAAF. Scott has much favour at Canungra and has been busy with brew runs sharing his faith through the use of the Scriptures.

Simpson Barracks Macleod:

It’s good to see the unit affirm Rep. Adrian Steen, along with the base Chaplain who employs Adrian’s support. Adrian has helped many families in practical ways, even with groceries. Adrian’s Brew Truck should be commissioned this month.

Blamey Barracks Kapooka:

We praise God for AComm Allen Pipes and the team at Kapooka. Allen, in his role as Assistant Commissioner, oversees the Wagga, Wodonga and Melbourne side of the ministry. Praise God for Allen’s wife, Rep. Brooke Pipes, who works among the families at the Defence ‘marriage patch,’ Kapooka. Not forgetting the support team of Reps George, Milton, Kim, and Senior Rep. Graham French, who also support the Wagga region.

Romani Barracks Orange – 1/19 Battalions:

Neil McGinn recently had his ministry affirmed by 1/19, offering to help with fuel costs. We praise God for the support of Neil’s Church, Blayney Baptist, in prayer and highly prized homemade biscuits.

Gallipoli Barracks – 8/9 Battalions:

Pray for Senior Rep. Andrew Baker of 8/9 Battalion who is studying for a Bachelor of Ministries. EWS staff in the Brisbane area are helping out with 8/9 as needed while Andrew takes time out to study.

Gaza Ridge Barracks Bandiana:

Rep. Len Bergin has had many opportunities to screen the EWS DVD for new soldiers. The DVD highlights our gospel sharing role, centre work and brew runs. Len will step down from full-time ministry with EWS at the end of this year, but continue in a part-time role from 2012.

HMAS Kuttabul Navy Live-in Accommodation Homebush:

Recently, I set up a brew point at the wharf for families coming to welcome sailors home. Bibles and tracts were taken. I also do “ANZAC bikkie runs” down to the wharf. Praise God for Reps Bob and Roni Palmer who continue to serve at the Centre two nights a week. Occasionally sailors come in and share their concerns with Bob and Roni, providing an opportunity to minister. Please pray for God’s wisdom and words on these
