Reflection on 2011 by Andrew Baker

2011 started with diggers being called back early from their end of year break, sent to Toowoomba for a search and rescue mission after the inland tsunami. I (Andrew) followed shortly afterwards. While there, I had one last opportunity to support the soldiers before beginning with QTC Bible College at St Lucia. Looking back, it’s hard to believe 2011 is almost over. It began with such tragedy, continuing through floods, fires, earthquakes, civil uprisings, wars, economic crisis, etc.

Hardly comparable, but having survived my first year of college ‘without too many sleepless nights,’ comes with great relief. I may have gained a few extra grey hairs though! Regardless, I’m convinced the call from God to go to college will be of considerable benefit in the future in sharing His Word more effectively. Nevertheless, I miss being in the field with the diggers, and especially the one-on-one conversations that take place. I hope to return to that in 2012.

In closing, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, especially those who have prayed for the work at Enoggera, my well-being and my family. Please continue to pray for Everyman’s. Pray for more opportunities in 2012 to share about God and His Son Jesus with the soldiers we meet. Also, pray for someone to continue the work at Enoggera while Iím studying (the field is white for harvest but the labourers are few). Once again, thank you for praying and supporting us financially throughout the year.

Have a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year, God bless from Senior Rep. Andrew Baker and Family.
