A Testimony from Rep. Richard Gibson.

The following recently took place. One day while having lunch in the ‘all ranks’ mess, some soldiers listened as I shared about the love of God, and how His love has changed my life. Some seemed interested and others not. One soldier asked, “How does one talk to God?” I said, “Do you believe in God?”

One said yes, most said no, presenting an excellent opportunity to share in the truth of God’s Word. I asked, “If there is no God would you please tell me who set the standard for good and evil?” One of the men said, “That’s easy, man decides what’s good or evil, so we don’t need a God.” I replied, “Who revealed good and evil?” causing them to stop and think. I continued, “Listen guys, we just lost 3 more soldiers in Afghanistan last week and I’m here to talk to you about your eternal souls, and God’s wish for you to go to heaven.” (Jesus is the only way to heaven). I finished with, “Guys, before you leave the base, please consider what I have shared here today. I would like to see you all in heaven one day, but it’s your choice. Please think about it, and don't forget to pray.” I then gave out some tracts. The seed is planted. I hope and believe that all of them will respond to the call of God and that we’ll see every one of them in heaven one day.

Reader, please understand, I only have a limited time with the troops passing through Kokoda Barracks, either while out on Brew Runs or in the Mess, so I want to make to most of every opportunity. I want to be confident, when they leave here for home, the Word will continue to take root. Other EWS Reps posted on various bases around Australia are also continuing the work by watering the seed sown here at Canungra. I have been laying seed all over Kokoda Barracks.

God bless from Rep. Richard Gibson
